RECORD MONTH FOR ADOPTIONS

January 2010 was a record month for PFA adoptions, with 27 rescued cats finding loving new homes, including some of our long-term foster cats like Gemma and Teddy, who were in PFA foster care for more than a year. Thanks to all of our new and repeat adopters who opened their hearts and homes to some very deserving kitties! We are continuing to take in new rescues as fast as our cats are getting adopted out, so if you are in the market for a new feline friend, please contact us.

GEARING UP FOR KITTEN SEASON - NEW FOSTER HOMES NEEDED

It's already February, and that means kitten season is just around the corner. With another sterilization blitz for feral cats set to launch in mid-March, we anticipate we will be rescuing mamas and litters within the next six weeks. We have experienced some attrition/retirement/relocation of several of our reliable kitten foster homes and we are anxiously seeking to line up some new ones so that we have spots for mamas and kittens to go to. If you are interested in fostering mamas with litters of kittens in the spring, please contact us.

PETSMART ADOPTION DAYS - FEBRUARY 12-14

Many of our recent successful adoptions have resulted from our partnership with the PetSmart satellite adoption centre. PetSmart is hosting another "Pet Adoption Days" event February 12-14 and PFA will be there with information and some adoptable cats. Please pass this information on to anyone you may know who may be interested in adopting one of our sweet cats.

BINGO VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

As always, we need bingo volunteers to help at our fundraising bingos, especially those held during the week. Bingos are a critical part of our fundraising efforts, and we are facing increased costs due to a hike in the cost of spay/neuter surgeries as of January 1. If you are interested in volunteering to help us out for a few hours, please contact PFA Bingo.

SWEET SENIOR CAT NEEDS NEW HOME

Taz is a beautiful and affectionate orange and white boy who finds himself needing a new home at the ripe old age of 11. He is a loving lap cat who is healthy but needs a special diet to prevent crystals, which is quite common for male cats. The diet has worked very well and he has a clean bill of health. Other than that, his needs are few - a lap to snuggle in and a bit of attention and affection along with his special food. Due to Taz's age and his special food requirement, it is proving very difficult to find a home for him, but he is a wonderful boy with many years of love left to give. If you or someone you know is looking for a calm, mature cat to be their loving and loyal companion, please contact us.

2010 PET EXPO

The 2010 Pet Expo was a huge success! PFA volunteers enjoyed visiting with our supporters and making many new friends, in addition to raising much needed funds and spreading awareness of our cause. Thanks so much to all of you who came out to support us.
