Background

Catniss and her siblings were found abandoned under a shed, after a concerned citizen had contacted RCR. Unfortunately, there was no mother cat and the kittens went into foster care.

Catniss is a sassy girl who can be a bit finicky and diva-ish. Her foster family loves her quirky little personality and unique temperament. She is one of the most affectionate, loving kittens they have had. She can’t get enough affection from her foster family and loves to be cuddled.

Catniss will let you know when she needs something with a quick few meows and then you had better be paying attention.

She doesn’t like to share her food and will give her disapproved growl when another cat comes to the feeding station. She is a definite foody and although she loves and cuddles her siblings they know not to eat out of the same dish she’s eating from.

Catniss would be great in a home with older children and a home with or without other pets.

Background

Effie and her siblings were found abandoned under a shed, after a concerned citizen had contacted RCR. Unfortunately, there was no mother cat and the kittens went into foster care.

Effie is a shy girl but loves her cuddles with siblings and from her foster family. She loves to make biscuits and suckle on blankets. She is very sweet and you hardly know she’s around until she gives those faint little meows to let you know she needs some attention. Effie also loves to play and rip around with her siblings.

Effie would do well in a home with other cats or with any of her litter mates as she is quite bonded to them. Either Catniss or Roo. She would also be good with children as she is very gentle.

Background

Meet Shade, a beautiful 10 year old feline who is looking for a very special home. Shade is a bit of a mystery - she is shy and reserved kitty who takes her time to warm up to new people. While she may initially prefer to keep her distance, she has shown, that with patience and a bit of coaxing, she can be tempted to come out of her shell with the help of some tasty treats.

Shade tends to be quite cautious around humans and often chooses to hide when unfamiliar faces are around. She’s more comfortable observing from a safe spot and needs a very gently approach. Her foster parents are working diligently to help her feel more at ease, though she’s not quite ready for lots of hands-on attention yet. Building trust with her will take time but the bond will be worth it!

One of Shade’s unique needs is assistance with grooming. Due to her size she requires regular grooming to help keep her clean and comfortable. Her fur also needs to be trimmed to ensure she stays tidy and healthy.

Despite her shyness, Shade has a playful side and enjoys engaging with toys on her own. She’s also intrigued by the other cats in her foster home, showing that she has the potential to be a wonderful companion to her fellow felines. She enjoys batting a toy mice or chasing a ball and can entertain herself quite well.

Shade’s ideal home would be a quiet and patient environment where she can continue to build trust at her own pace. It is important to note that she would do best in a home without dogs and where there are no loud children as she fines these environment to be too overwhelming. Her new family would need to be prepared for a gentle, long -term commitment to helping her adjust. If you have a heart full of compassion and a willingness to understand Shade’s unique needs, she might just be the perfect addition to your home.
