2011 PET EXPO

Please visit our booth at the 2011 Pet Expo, Sunday January 30th at the Conexus Arts Centre. Admission is $5 and proceeds go to the Regina Humane Society. PFA will be selling cat toys and other merchandise, providing information on our programs and accepting donations towards veterinary care for our many rescued cats and kittens. We will also be raffling off a $50 gift certificate to Metro Pet Market, so be sure to come and see us!

RECORD RESCUE NUMBERS - FOSTER HOMES AND DONATIONS NEEDED!

It's been a tough winter on people and strays alike! PFA currently has more than 120 cats and kittens in foster care, and we are once again in need of food and litter donations. We are particularly in need of dry food and litter as we go through these items very quickly with this volume of rescued cats.

We also urgently need more foster homes! Currently, the ones we have are stretched very thin. If you've ever given any thought to fostering, or if you would like the companionship of a pet without the commitment, please consider fostering a rescued cat! It is very rewarding.

For information on fostering or donating supplies, please contact us.

Adoption Promotion

PFA will be partnering with PetSmart for another adoption days promotion on February 11, 12 and 13th. We will be promoting our programs and showing off our adoptable cats with the hope of finding them forever homes.

We need volunteers - and foster families willing to show off their cats - for shifts on all three days. Please contact us if you are interested.

GIVING THANKS

We've experienced some terrific support from local businesses and would like to thank the following donors for their generosity and assistance in helping us provide shelter to our many outdoor cats:
  • Fries Tallman Lumber, which kindly provided building supplies to make cat shelters for the feral cat colonies.
  • The shop students at Balfour Collegiate
  • Dr. D. Shtuka of the Victoria Veterinary Clinic.
We’d also like to thank Eat Healthy Foods for donating psyllium to enhance the diets of cats with digestive issues.

SHEDDING LIGHT ON THE FUR INDUSTRY

PFA volunteer Debbie Sentes has written a thought provoking article on the fur industry, highlighting some of the questionable breeding and trapping practices. For more info, please visit this link.
