Update on Greta

Greta enjoying her barbie-mobile

Hi, cat lovers! It’s hard to believe summer is coming to a close. It’s been a tough one with lots of heartbreak but we have many wonderful stories to share and wee Greta is one of them!

sweet greta strikes a pose

This tiny girl was rescued under duress from a hot car back at the end of July as a baby who needed neo-natal care. Thankfully she suffered no ill effects and has become a healthy and robust little kitten who brings joy to her foster family daily.

greta loves to play

Greta is much loved and living the good life in foster care while we get her prepared to go up for adoption. We appreciate the community support for all the little Gretas out there! Please visit our website to learn more about fostering, volunteering. donating and adopting: Regina Cat Rescue

Good night, Sweet Spirit

RCR had an intense day recently when we were contacted first thing in the morning by a kind Samaritan who had come across a kitten on the side of a highway who had been hit by a vehicle and was in distress. The kitten’s sibling was deceased but the little rescue we called Spirit survived and was fighting with everything she had.

We had high hopes for a successful rescue and Spirit quickly won our hearts. Unfortunately, the injuries she suffered were catastrophic. She endured 2 broken femurs, a broken hip, a leg amputation was needed on one leg and a major surgery on the other and it wasn’t feasible at her young age. In consultation with the vet, it determined that kindest was to let Spirit go and join the angels.

As always, a dedicated RCR volunteer was there to help her cross and let her know she was loved. RIP beautiful girl.
