Background
Samantha is a pretty and loving mama cat who gave birth to a litter outdoors in a Regina neighbourhood on the outskirts of the city where coyotes were a constant threat. The clever little mama moved her babies multiple times to various residents in the area in order to keep them safe, while Regina Cat Rescue was trying to locate and rescue them. Sadly, we believe a few succumbed to the coyotes but we were thrilled when Samantha and her 3 remaining kittens were captured and placed into foster care. The family was placed into the safety of a foster home where they were able to grow and play together. The kittens are big enough to move out now, and Samantha is looking for a home where she can be the focus of a loving family.
Samantha was clearly someone's pet before landing on the streets. She has no hesitation with human contact, and is the first to approach for petting, purrs easily, gives head butts, and is quite vocal. Sam has a soft and shiny coat, and doesn't shed very much. She enjoys looking out the window, and listening to the birds. She loves treats and watching her kittens play with toys.
Samantha is an excellent mama and remains protective of her kittens but now it's time for her to relax and enjoy the indoor life. She is ready for a calm, safe space of her own where she doesn't have to hunt birds and mice or be wary of predators and traffic.
