RCR Bingos and Raffles

In our province, charity bingo fundrasing and raffles are regulated by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA). All registered organizations, charities and Non Profit Corporations (NPCs) are licenced and subject to legal regulations. Regina Cat Rescue first started bingo operations under the People for Animals name in January 2009. Application to renew a licence is done annually.

Under the terms of RCR's licence with SLGA, bingo revenues are deposited into a separate account. Also under the terms of the licence, disbursements can only be made for veterinary costs incurred by RCR's animal rescue and feral cat programs. Presently, the maximum amount that RCR can earn in our bingo reporting year (March to February) is $25,000.

There is an additional grant from SLGA amounting to 25 percent of bingo revenue. This money can be deposited to the general RCR account. This grant also applies to revenue from raffle proceeds.
