PFA Cat-A-Logue: Special cats

Chaplin

Meet Chaplin, a handsome 4 year old male cat who was named after Charlie Chaplin for his cute little moustache, but he is also a little character who lives up to his namesake.

Chaplin is a recent rescue from the streets of North Central where he lived at one of our feral colonies, but he is quite happy to enjoy the regular food, water and attention in a PFA foster home.

Chaplin may fuss and play hard to get at first but he quickly melts and loves attention and snuggles, and playing with dangly cat toys.

This special boy needs a very special home as he is FIV positive as a result of his days on the street. Cats with FIV can often live as long as regular cats that don’t have FIV, but they are at higher risks for infections andthey require good nutrition, lots of love, and proper veterinary care such as regular check-ups.

Chaplin needs to be an only cat – or to go to a home with another FIV positive cat as FIV is communicable to other cats. However, he can more than fill a home with love and make people laugh with his antics. He just needs a chance with the right family.

Coconut

This beautiful white cat is Coconut, a sweet female rescued with her kittens in the fall of 2008 from a deteriorated old garage in North Central. Coconut, her kittens and her boyfriend Bugsy were all taken into foster care and all have been adopted except for Coconut.

Coconut was very timid at first and it took her a long time to come out of her shell. She has learned to trust people and enjoys being around people that she knows - although she is not a lap cat. She has been spayed and fully vaccinated.

Coconut is the kind of cat who would do best in a quiet home with a patient family, possibly a retired couple or single person who would like an independent cat companion.
