Update on Gareth
/Last week I wrote about a tiny tabby kitten named Gareth that was taken to a PFA foster home sick and in pain from a severe abscess on his back end.
The poor little guy was treated by a vet for pain and infection but the wound was so bad he had to return the next day for surgery to have the wound fully cleaned out.
He had a few rough days after the surgery but has now perked up and is cuddling with his foster mom Kim, and happily playing with the cats and dogs in his new foster home.
The trauma has left his back end sore and swollen and he has trouble controlling his bladder at night so his foster mom uses a tiny diaper to help him out. We are glad to have foster homes that go to such lengths for their charges!
Gareth just went to the vet for a check-up and is doing very well. The wound is clean and healing and the vet feels that his night incontinence is temporary due to the swelling from the wound.
We love this spunky little guy! If you would like to sponsor Gareth or make a donation towards his care, please visit our website: http://www.pfasask.com/2012/03/sponsor-rescued-cat.html
