It is Raining Cats!

Hugo

Mr. Brownie and Ms. Oreo

Lexi
Kenzie

It's been pouring rain in Regina today, and our roadways and drains have been completely overwhelmed, with floods everywhere!

PFA is similarly overwhelmed with an influx of stray cats and kittens that has pushed us beyond our breaking point.

Here are just a few examples of recent rescues (there are many more!) :

  • Kenzie - Kenzie is a very sweet young cat who has already had a hard life, as evidenced by her frostbitten ears and broken tail.  Kenzie was a an emergency rescue we took on 10 days ago after she'd been teased and chased by kids and ended up giving birth to a kitten on the porch of a building where she sought refuge.  She was bleeding heavily and the panicked residents contacted PFA for help. Sadly, her kitten was premature and didn't survive, but Kenzie is doing well and will be available for adoption shortly.
  • Hugo - don't let appearances deceive you! Hugo may look rough and tumble but he is a sweet young stray whose life on the streets sadly led to the loss of his eye. Hugo is a nice cat, 18-24  months, who is FLV/FIV negative, neutered, and in need of a good home that won't abandon him to the street life.
  • Lexi - Lexi is a very sweet young female (7 months) who was found stay on a very busy Regina street. Her time as a stray has left her wary of other animals but she adores cuddles and pets and likes to wrap herself around her foster mom's neck to purr and snuggle.
  • Mr. Brownie and Ms. Oreo - tiny feral kittens scooped from their mama at 6 weeks to give them a chance at the good life of a tame house cat.
