There is never any shortage of stray and unwanted cats, and it's hard to turn them away in the winter when shelters are overflowing and the harsh weather makes it tough for the outside cats to survive.
Here are some of our recent rescues:
1. Robi - this handsome and loving boy is a long-time stray at feeding station in the north central area. Volunteers hated leaving him behind after each feeding because he is so sweet and he loves attention and people so much. We are happy to say that Robi is now sterilized, safe and sound in foster care, and available for adoption. He can sit in your lap cuddling and purring for hours, and deserves a good home.
2. Mystic - this beautiful and gentle soul was rescued a week before Christmas after he was found trying to fend for himself in the countryside outside Regina. He was fortunate to land in foster care after a timely adoption created an opening. He is thin and looks a bit scruffy but his improving every day and will be a gorgeous boy with a bit of time, care and a good diet. Mystic is fixed, de-clawed and super affectionate. He loves cuddles, belly rubs, and purrs like crazy with the slightest touch. He loves to be brushed.
3. Nora - Nora is a beautiful spayed female who is 5 years old. She was found alone in a rental property with no food, water or litter after the renters bailed in the middle of the night owing rent. Luckily, a good friend of the landlord loves cats and has fostered for PFA in the past. She is currently caring for Nora and looking forward to finding her a loving home. Nora is a bit skittish but very affectionate.
4. Solar and her kittens - Solar is a sweet young female cat with a litter of kittens that were destined for life as mousers in a cold barn but were rescued thanks to a kind PFA supporter who intervened at the 11th hour. Solar has 6 precious baby kittens (13 weeks) - 3 torties- Mia, Mosaic and Twinkle; 2 orange tabbies - Ember and Citrine; and, and an orange and white little one - Barolo!
Thanks to the caring and kind rescuers and foster homes caring for these deserving cats.
