A Happy Reunion Thanks to A Microchip
/A Regina Cat Rescue volunteer recently rescued a tame cat from a busy street where she was darting in and out of traffic. Given the late hour and the cold night, she tucked the cat into her spare room and took her to be scanned at a vet clinic the next day.
It turned out that the cat had a microchip, and that she had been missing for over two years! However, her owners will still looking for her and wanted her back, and we were able to send her back home to her family.
Happy endings like this are only possible due to the pet having a traceable form of identification such as as microchip or tattoo. All Regina Cat Rescue cats are either tattooed or microchipped before they leave our care, and we encourage all pet owners to ensure their pets have proper identification. It's the only way to be sure your pet can be returned to you if found stray.
We are happy for this kitty and her family!
